Wonderfully Sweet

This Saturday was very nice for us. Though some of it consisted of studying and taking tests, (which we both did very well on) and doing some cleaning / laundry, it was still a great day.

When Preston and I go on dates, we usually take turns planning them and try to surprise the other with the date. However, we try to avoid doing extravagant things seeing as they tend to be expendy. This week was my turn to plan. I surprised Preston by taking us to see The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3-D. It was AWESOME! There was even one point where the vampires are playing hockey with a pumpkin and after they hit it, it came flying out into the audience. I actually jumped / ducked! We both think that it was so much better in 3-D than even the original version. Which is really saying something cause the original is amazing.

After the movie, we decided to go home and take a short cat nap before going to a student film festival they have on campus every year called Final Cut. Our cat naps turned into pretty long naps, and by the time we woke up, we would probably have had time to make it to the festival, but that would have meant having to "eat out" which we are trying to avoid. SO, we skipped the festival and I made pasta and garlic bread for dinner. For dessert we had pear and yogurt parfaits which we enjoyed very much. We then watched "The Office" episode from this week. We don't have TV, so we watch that one TV show on the internet usually a day or two after it is aired. After that, we decided to watch Ground Hog Day, which I don't think I had ever seen. It was pretty dang funny. It had to be. Its Bill Murray! After the movie, we went on a nice walk to get some hot chocolate.

It was a beautiful night out. Walking in the dark reminded us both of being back on the mission, walking back to our apartments after a long day of teaching the Gospel. At one point, I closed my eyes as we walked. I could hear the train in the background which only enhanced my nostalgia of Argentina. Even though the air didn't smell like Argentina, it was nice to think about.

The hot chocolate was really good and the company was even better. Several instances throughout the day reminded me of when Preston and I were dating. It was sweet to think about. The same thoughts and feelings came back to me that did when we would go on walks back then. It gave me a giddy feeling. I love that giddy feeling. And I love that I can feel that giddy feeling as often as I do being married to Preston.

Over all, it was a wonderfully sweet day.
